Deeter named to Daktronics all-region first team

KUTZTOWN, PA. (November 17, 2009) -- Kutztown University junior defender Chelsea Deeter (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) was selected to the Daktronics All-Atlantic Region first team released Tuesday afternoon.

The voting was powered by ATHLETICSITE.COM and conducted among sports information directors at NCAA Division II institutions that are members of the Pennsylvania State Athletic and West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conferences.

Deeter had a sterling season in helping the Golden Bears set a school record for wins in a season (15). Deeter anchored a defense that posted a school record 13 shutouts. In addition, Deeter helped Kutztown earn a bid to the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region tournament. The Golden Bears finished second in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Division and as PSAC tournament runner-up. Deeter also had two assists during a 4-1 victory over East Stroudsburg in a PSAC quarterfinal contest.

A 2009 all-PSAC East first team selection, Deeter was a Daktronics all-Atlantic Region honorable mention selection last season.
