DAY 2 (Thursday, December 2, 2010)
We started our day off with a nice, crisp morning shakeout run at the cross country course. It is flat and fast and should be a great race! We got that done with early to have time to explore Louisville. Panera Bread for lunch was amazing, and then we walked to the Visitor's Center downtown and got to take pictures with Colonel Sanders.
The best part of the day must have been the trip to the Louisville Slugger Factory. After a tour of how bats are made, we all got our own mini bat, which prepared us to hit some home runs in the batting cages that were downstairs. I think Jayme was the best batter out there. Next, we went to visit Charlie Brown's Christmas inside the Factory and all wrote some heartfelt letters to Santa (Coach's was the best).
On our walk back, we were told to visit this Hotel which was a museum on the bottom two floors. It was... interesting. We were able to catch letters on a projector screen. Finally, we went to the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner, which was delicious! Now, we're just relaxing until tomorrow's pre-meet run in the afternoon. Hopefully it won't snow on us again like it did today. The competitions for other sports started today, so we're getting in the mindset of race day.
