KU golfers in fourth after first day of McDaniel Invite

ABBOTTSTOWN, PA (March 27, 2010) - Chelsea Corbo, Samantha Rumbley and Mindy Glatfelter each carded an 88 to help the Kutztown University women's golf team sit in fourth place after day one at the McDaniel Invitational on Saturday afternoon. (Complete Results)

Nina Antos is in 21st place with a first round 94 and Morgan Todd is tied for 27th in the Golden Bears first competition of the spring season playing on the 5,809-yard, par-72 Bridges Golf Club.

Corbo bounced back from a shaky front-nine 47, with an impressive 41 on the back. She collected a par on four of the final five holes to finish her day. Rumbley and Glatfelter each recorded splits of 43 and 45, with Rumbley's low of the day coming on the front and Glatfelter's best on the final nine.

Collectively, the Golden Bears shot a 358 and trail first place SUNY Cortland by only six strokes. New York University is in second place with 355 and host McDaniel is one stroke ahead of KU for third.

The final day of the McDaniel Invitational will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.
