Golden Bear golfers continue to roll with win at East Stroudsburg Invitational

EAST STROUDSBURG, PA (April 18, 2010) - Freshman Nina Antos' had a career-best 81 and all four golfers finished in the 80's to help Kutztown University capture a first place finish at the East Stroudsburg Invitational on Sunday afternoon.

The team shot a 338, a 23 stroke improvement from Saturday, and collectively had a two-day score of 699. Gannon, who was three strokes ahead of KU after day one, finished in second place with a 713.

The top finish at ESU was the second of the weekend and third this spring. The KU women also had a strong third place showing at the Gannon Invitational last week. In all of their performances this spring, the Golden Bears have upped their play in the final round.

"After looking at the first day standings, the girls always know what they have to do the next day," said head coach Rob Fisher. "They go out their and get the job done. It was an amazing comeback they had this weekend, Nina was awesome for us today."

Antos improved by 13 strokes on the second day at the
5,282-yard, par-72 Wind Gap Country Club to finish the invite with a score of 175. Antos previous low was an 86 at the first round of the Mercyhurst Invitational on September 19, 2009.

Sophomore Chelsea Corbo and freshman Mindy Glatfelter each turned in an 84. Corbo finished the invite with a 170, which was the lowest for KU. Glatfelter had a 91 on her first day to total a 175.

Samantha Rumbley had a two-round score of 179 after carding an 89 on Sunday.
