HERSHEY, PA (April 25, 2010) - Mindy Glatfelter and Chelsea Corbo were named to the All-Conference team and helped lead the Kutztown University women's golf team to a second place finish at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship on Sunday afternoon. (Individual Results)

California (PA) took first place with a team score of 595 to earn its second-consecutive title, followed by KU at 643. West Chester (665), Gannon (666), Clarion (671), Mercyhurst (691) and East Stroudsburg (746) rounded out the standings.

Glatfelter finished her freshman year on a high note, with a two-round total of 156 (79-77) to place sixth on the 5,777-yard, par-72 Hershey Country Club.

Corbo earned her second consecutive All-Conference status after finishing in 10th place last year. She led all-KU golfers with a season-best 76 on the second round, paired with a first day 81 which lead to a seventh place finish. In the team van prior to the Sunday morning tee off, Corbo was preparing for the day humming and singing several Christmas songs, much to the
delight of her teammates.

Although the music may be deemed out of season, Corbo's play on the course was right in the swing of things. She unleashed a typical monster drive right down the fairway on the par-5, 16th hole. Corbo then knocked a 7-iron from roughly 150-yards out to within two feet of the hole. She then tapped in for eagle and was elated with joy.

"It was one of my nicer shots on the day, it was exhilarating," said Corbo.

Nina Antos
turned in the finest performance of her career on Sunday. Her 77 on the second round was a nine-stroke and finished her tied for 14th.

“It felt great today, I wasn’t even thinking about how I was playing while on the course,” said Antos. “I just missed an eagle oppurtunity on the 16th, so it’s an nice feeling to know that I can still improve even more.”

Junior Samantha Rumbley had a two-round score of 167 to finish 19th. On a par-3 fourth hole, Rumbley had to settle for birdie after missing a hole-in-one by less than 18 inches.

Sophomore Morgan Todd kept her strong pace that she had heading into the PSAC Championships with a 26th place showing.

“I think everybody went out their and gave their best efforts,” said Glatfelter. “It was really sad to see the season come to an end, I look at this team as part of my family.”

Rumbley, her teammates and coaches share Glatfelter’s feelings about the 2009-10 season.

“This was one of the greatest seasons in school history,” said Rumbley. “I am really glad that we were able to end it on such a high note.”

“We have really come together as a team lately and it shows with our performance,” added Corbo.

In the spring season, the Golden Bears took first place in three invites, with one third place finish and now second in the highest stage of the season.
