Golden Bears season draws to an end in Florida

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (May 12, 2010) – The Kutztown University men’s tennis team saw its magnificent 2010 season draw to a close with a 5-0 loss in the NCAA Division II Championships to Armstrong Atlantic State University on Wednesday afternoon at Sanlando Park.
The two-time defending national champion Pirates swept the doubles matches and claimed two singles matches in straight sets to clinch the match.
The No. 1 doubles duo of Kaushik Das and Arpit Sharma battled strongly against No. 3 ranked Rafael Array and Mikk Irdoja, falling 8-3.
In the second doubles flight, Jonathan Goulet and Darren Krout dropped their match 8-1 to Matus Mydla and Daniel Regan.
On the season, the Das and Sharma had a 15-3 record and were PSAC doubles champions in the fall portion of the season. Sharma finished off his solid career as a Golden Bear with two PSAC doubles championships and had 54 wins in doubles.
The Golden Bears finished the season with a 12-5 record and were one of the 16 teams remaining in the nation for the second straight season and seventh time in 10 years.
