Rebuck and Meshaw meet NCAA provisional at Princeton Elite Meet

PRINCETON N.J. (May 2, 2010) -- The Kutztown University men's track and field team competed in the Princeton Elite Meet on Saturday and finished on a strong note after having two athletes meet the NCAA provisional mark.

The Golden Bears' Jason Rebuck (Southampton/William Tennent) threw an NCAA provisional mark of 183 feet in the hammer throw. Kori Meeshaw advanced his NCAA provisional time in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing in 52.71 seconds. He ran a 52.93 at the Penn Relays on April 23.

Also placing in the top eight of the 400 meter hurdles was Manny Morris, who finished in sixth place with a time of 54.74 seconds.

In the 110 meter hurdles Shane Harvey (Pattenburg, N.J./North Hunterdon) placed sixth with a time of 15.07 seconds. TJ Longmore finished in 15.12 seconds for seventh place.

The 4x100 meter relay team consisting of Greg Crawford (Elizabethtown, PA/Elizabethtown), Kendel Dixon (Atglen/Octorara), Percell Berry (Collegeville, PA/Methacton) and Matt Cannell (Douglassville, PA/Daniel Boone) finished in third place with a time of 42.45 seconds. Running the 4x400 meter relay was Dixon, Berry, Meshaw and Shaun Crump (Boyertown/Boyertown). The quad finished in 3 minutes 16.35 seconds for fourth place.

In the field events, Rebuck also competed in the discus throw. He threw the discus 154-07 feet for fourth place. Also finishing in fourth place was Jack Iouse, throwing the javelin 190-1. Finishing seventh was Berry in the pole vault (13-11.25) and Cannell in the long jump (22-08).

The Golden Bears return to action next weekend, when they host the Kutztown Invitational that begins at 5 p.m.
