Reich and Fleming lead Kutztown men's cross-country in opener: Women's results delayed

BETHLEHEM, PA (September 3, 2010) – When asked to be a leader of a young Kutztown University men's cross country team, Ryan Reich (Oley, PA/Oley Valley) took that challenge and met expectations at Friday's Lehigh Invitational. (MEN'S RESULTS)

Reich, along with Zach Fleming (Emerald, PA/Northern Lehigh), led the Golden Bears by finishing in the top 25 overall.  Recih crossed the finish line in 19 minutes, 43.0 seconds in 22nd place. Meanwhile, Fleming finished 24th overall in 19:43.9, nearly a second apart from one another as consistency was a goal Kutztown may have been hoping to achieve in its season opener.  More on this story coming soon.

The women's results are still delayed as of 10:15 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.

However, the Kutztown University women's cross-country team finished fourth overall at the Lehigh Valley Invitational Friday evening. Cristina Reimer (Chester Springs, PA/Downingtown East) finished third overall in the race to lead the Golden Bears, ranked No. 17 in the United States Track and Field Cross-Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) Top 25 poll.
