KU women's cross country places three in the top 25

BETHELEHEM, PA (September 4, 2010)—The Kutztown University women’s cross country team opened the season with an impressive performance at the Lehigh University Invitational. Senior Christina Reimer finished third overall with a time of 22 minutes and 36.2 seconds to help the Golden Bears placed fourth with 114 points. (WOMEN’S RESULTS)
The Golden Bears are ranked second regionally and 17th nationally in the preseason United States Track and Field Cross-County Coaches’ Association (USTFCCCA) Top 25 poll.
Sophomore Becca Brandt and freshman Jen Cleary finished among the top 25. Brandt was 21st with a time of 23.47.7, and Cleary was 22nd with a time of 23.53.1.
The Golden Bears will compete next Saturday as they host the Maroon and Gold Invitational. Last year Kutztown won the event and next week they hope to defend that title.
