ALTOONA, Pa. (February 5, 2012)—After two days of competition at the second Northeast Conference (NEC) Meet, the Kutztown University women's bowling team is in a three-way tie for sixth place in the conference after going 2-2 on Sunday afternoon.

The Golden Bears (40-28 overall, 8-10 NEC) finished with a pinfall of 8261 and went 5-4 during the weekend. Sunday's competition featured four quint-baker games. Kutztown defeated New Jersey City 937-833 and Monmouth 1024-936. The Golden Bears fell to Adelphi 1039-900 and Long Island University-Brooklyn 926-811.
Kutztown was led by senior
Kayla Jones (Johnstown, PA/Westmont Hilltop ) with a 20.15 baker average through 90 frames.
Jara Cohen (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) followed with a 19.15 average through 85 frames.
Deanna DiRado (Greensburg, PA/Greensburg Salem) posted a 19.03 in 82 frames and
Brooke Bower (Camp Hill, PA/Cedar Cliff) averaged 18.57 in 85 frames.
Fairleigh Dickinson leads the NEC with a conference record on 13-5, followed by Sacred Heart (12-6), NJCU (11-5), Adelphi (10-6), Monmouth (9-8), St. Francis-NY (8-10), KU (8-10), St. Francis-PA (8-10), St. Peter's (6-12) and LIU (5-13).
The third and final NEC Meet will take place on March 3 in Elmwood Park, New Jersey. The NEC Meet will be hosted by FDU and the top eight teams will qualify for the NEC Championships later in March, hosted by Kutztown.
