PSAC Release

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Senior Ridhima Borooah (Guwahati-Assam, India/Modern School; Barakhamba Road; New Delhi) of the Kutztown University women's tennis team has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Champion Scholar award winner on Friday afternoon at the PSAC Women's Tennis Championships.

She received the 2013 Student Award from the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors for outstanding achievements and performance.

The senior is also a three-time PSAC Scholar Athlete.

Borooah was named the PSAC Freshman of the Year in 2010 and was named to the All-PSAC East team in both singles and doubles play in 2012. For her career, she has won 33 singles matches and 34 doubles matches.

The Golden Bears earned their first PSAC Eastern Division title in school history this season with its 6-0 conference record. The perfect record is also a first-time occurrence for the Kutztown women's tennis program.

The PSAC Champion Scholar Awards are modeled after the NCAA's Elite 89 award and honor the student-athlete with the top grade point average who is competing at the site of each of the PSAC's 23 team championship finals. The selection criteria for the Champion Scholar Awards is identical to that of the NCAA Elite 89 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship finals sites of the 89 NCAA championships across all three divisions - I, II and III.
