Official Announcement of Naming of StadiumKUTZTOWN, Pa. – Pro Football Hall of Famer and Kutztown University alumnus Andre Reed '05 released the following statement in response to Kutztown University's announcement that the school's stadium will be named in his honor on October 18:
"I am deeply honored and flattered by the announcement today, that my alma mater Kutztown University will be naming the stadium I played in - Andre Reed Stadium.
"This is an honor that is truly exceptional and quite special to me. It is my understanding that the naming of the stadium is a salute to my career and my accomplishments on the football field; it honors not only me but the entire Reed family.
"I am so proud to receive these acknowledgements from the university and I will do my level best to promote the university as a center of higher learning and symbol of athletic excellence. Kutztown University prepared me for life and launched my heralded athletic career. It is my hope and goal that others will follow in my steps and that other NFL careers and maybe a Hall of Famer will come from Kutztown in the years to come.
