Playoff-Run Comes to an End for Men's Tennis Friday in PSAC Semifinal Loss to Edinboro

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Kutztown University men's tennis team's season came to a close on Friday afternoon in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) semifinals at Bloomsburg, falling to top-seeded Edinboro University 5-0.
 
The fourth-seeded Golden Bears (3-13) had two doubles teams win three games apiece. At the No. 1 flight, Gabriel Nogara Souza (Curitiba, Brazil/Dom Bosco) and Nikolay Kodinov (Plovdiv, Bulgaria/Model High School of Mathematics) won three games in an 8-3 setback.
 
The duo of Benjamin Kelly (Medina, Ohio/Highland) and Josh Carl (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) also fell by a similar score at No. 3 doubles.
 
In singles action, Edinboro won the first two completed singles matches to end the match at 5-0.
 
Kutztown is slated to return all seven of its players next season, including five expected seniors.
