Athletics Facilities

Kutztown University is blessed with some of the top athletic facilities among Division II colleges and universities in the Eastern United States. Nineteen of KU's 21 teams have their home venues on campus. (the women's golf team plays its home meets at Berkleigh Country Club; women's bowling plays at Berks Lanes). The facility breakdown is as follows:
KEYSTONE HALL

The headquarters of the KU athletic department, Keystone Hall is the hub of indoor athletic activity on campus. The 3,400-seat Keystone Arena, located in the center of Keystone Hall, is the home of the Golden Bear volleyball team in the fall, and the men’s and women’s basketball and wrestling teams in the winter. It was also the training camp home of the NBA’s New Jersey Nets in the fall of 1995. The arena was also the site of a town meeting by President George W. Bush in 2004. Keystone Pool, a six-lane public pool that serves as the home for Golden Bear aquatics, is located at the rear of building. Keystone Hall also houses the Golden Bears Sports Medicine department, department staff offices, designated locker rooms for all intercollegiate athletic teams, the wrestling room, and a state-of-the-art fitness room. Keystone Field House - Keystone Field House is home to the KU men’s and women’s indoor track teams, and it has been the site of major eastern championships in recent years. The field-house is used by all teams for indoor practice and overflow athletic events, and many camps and clinics throughout the year. It is also used for non-athletic events, such as President Clinton’s address during his visit in 1994. |

Keystone Pool - The home of Golden Bear aquatics is Keystone Natatorium. The six-lane, 25-yard competition pool, which features a separate dive well, is located in Keystone Hall. In 2008, the facility was refurbished, with the installation of new lighting, bleachers and ventilation system. Additional features include a state-of-the-art public address system, Colorado System V timing equipment with aqua grip touchpads and a six-lane mercury display scoreboard. |
RISLEY HALL

Risley Weight Room - Athletes get extensive use out of the free-weight room, located on the ground floor of Risley Hall, the original gym. The weight room was recently renovated and expanded. |
The original gym, Risley Hall is primarily used for intramurals. Athletes get extensive use out of the free weight room, which is located on Risley's ground floor.
STUDENT RECREATION CENTER

The brand new, 64,623 square foot student recreation center opened in the fall of 2006. The facility, located between Keystone Hall and University Field, is THE place to be for student recreation and fitness on campus. Among the amenities are a nearly 9,000 sq. ft. fitness center and weight room, two group fitness studios, two racquetball courts, an indoor rock climbing wall, a synthetic surface gymnasium with curved walls for indoor sports, a synthetic surface half gymnasium, a suspended jogging track (approx. 1/10 mile), an office suite for recreational services staff, a meeting room, retail space/snack bar and locker rooms with jacuzzis. OUTDOOR FACILITIES
University Field

University Field is a 5,600-seat stadium that features a newly resurfaced synthetic track, artificial turf playing field and lights. University Field is the site of all home football and field hockey games and has been the site of PSAC Championship track and field meets. KU Tennis Courts
Keystone Tennis Courts include seven lighted tennis courts are used for athletic events, as well as academic and public activities.

Keystone Field (Soccer, Lacrosse)
Located behind Keystone Hall, Keystone Field includes the 500-seat grass home to the Golden Bear women’s soccer and women's lacrosse programs. The facility debuted in 1999. |
North Campus Complex - The north campus complex includes the baseball and softball diamonds. The complex also includes the start/finish area for on-campus 5K, 6K and 8K cross country courses, as well as practice fields for the men’s and women’s soccer and field hockey teams. |

North Campus Field (Baseball)
KU's North Campus Baseball Field was the site of the 2001, 2002 and 2007 NCAA Division II North Atlantic Regional Championships. The facility includes dugouts, a hitting cage and bullpens, while recent additions include a new backstop, infield tarp, banners and signs of team accomplishments, sponsorship signs and a new scoreboard. Dimensions for the field are 335 down the lines, 380 to the power allies and 405 to center field.

North Campus Field (Softball)
KU's North Campus Softball Field is the home of the Golden Bear softball team. The facility includes dugouts, hitting cages and an infield tarp. Dimensions for the field are 190 to right and left field and 220 to center.
