Matt Heffelfinger is in his seventh year as Kutztown University's director of sports information in 2025-26.
A 2007 Kutztown alum, Heffelfinger is responsible for covering and promoting the Golden Bears' 23Â varsity athletic programs.
Heffelfinger manages the university's athletics website, KUBears.com, along with overseeing the department's social media channels, live video streaming of home athletic events on the PSAC Sports Digital Network, and coordinates home event media relations logistics, including statistics, broadcasting, public address announcing and photography.
Since his arrival at Kutztown in January, 2019, Heffelfinger has launched two redesigns of KUBears.com, first in the summer of 2020 and most recently in the fall of 2025. The projects have brought new looks to the website with a focus on functionality and accessibility.
Heffelfinger returned to his alma mater after serving as the director of athletic communications at Elizabethtown College from 2010-19.
A member of the College Sports Communicators, Heffelfinger managed three redesigns of EtownBlueJays.com and directed game operations at home events, serving as lead statistician and public address announcer for many Blue Jay teams.
Heffelfinger also launched BlueJaysTV, the athletic department's streaming video initiative, with partner Stretch Internet prior to the 2014-15 academic year. BlueJaysTV offered live and on demand broadcasts of more than 60 Elizabethtown College home athletic events, including the annual Student-Athlete Recognition (STAR) ceremony and Blue Jay Athletics Alumni Reunion (hall of fame induction) in high definition.
Heffelfinger served as the host media coordinator for the 2015 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships at Giant Center in Hershey, Pa., and assisted the media relations staff at the 2016 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball East Regional, held in Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center. At Kutztown, he's been the host media coordinator for six NCAA Division II Football Championship playoff games, two NCAA DII Field Hockey Championship tournament games and multiple NCAA DII Women's Soccer and Softball Championship regional tournaments.
A native of Wernersville, Pa., Heffelfinger joined Elizabethtown after two-plus years as an athletic communications graduate assistant at Millersville University, where he was the primary media contact for the nationally ranked men's soccer program, along with the women's soccer, women's basketball, and softball teams.
Heffelfinger earned a bachelor's degree in leisure and sport studies from Kutztown University in 2007 and a Master of Education in sport management with a concentration in athletic administration from Millersville University in 2011.
He currently resides in Bernville, Pa., with his wife, Victoria, and daughter, Mazie.
