Scott Hobbs, who spent the last five years at the NCAA Division I level, was announced as Kutztown University's new strength and conditioning coordinator on Friday, July 2, 2021.

Hobbs joins the Golden Bears after serving as an associate strength and conditioning coach at Army West Point since January 2017.
During his time at Army, Hobbs has served as the head strength coach for men's/women's tennis, men's/women's rugby, volleyball, men's soccer, and was an assistant with football. He also assisted with every other Olympic sport in varying capacities. In addition, he was a part of five conference championship-winning teams.

Hobbs worked to improve the strength, speed, agility, and explosion of the Black Knights cadet-athletes, while also reducing the risk of musculoskeletal injury. Additionally, he directed and developed both the sports science and internship programs for the department, and worked closely with West Point's interdisciplinary high-performance team on joint initiatives including performance nutrition, health and wellness, and return to play.

Hobbs is well-acquainted with southeastern Pennsylvania, having worked at the University of Pennsylvania, Lehigh University, and DeSales University. His first exposure to the Lehigh Valley came during the fall of 2012 when he was studying abroad while enrolled at London's St. Mary's University in his native United Kingdom. Hobbs was a strength and conditioning intern with Lehigh and served as a strength and conditioning coach at DeSales.

He returned to the United States in 2016, joining the strength and conditioning program at Penn.

Hobbs graduated from St. Mary's in 2014 with a first-class bachelor's degree in strength and conditioning and completed his post-graduate studies in sports rehabilitation at the institution. He worked as a graduate assistant professor teaching undergraduate students on the strength and conditioning science degree program and coordinated all the varsity sports strength and conditioning provisions.

Hobbs worked in premiership rugby, high-performance rowing, varsity soccer, and youth weightlifting, and did consultant work for an international level sprinter while in London.

Hobbs is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with Distinction (CSCS, *D) and Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC) through the NSCA. In addition, he is an Altis Performance Therapist, EXOS Performance Specialist, Precision Nutrition Level 1 Coach, Functional Movement Screen Level 1 Instructor, and holds coaching certifications from USA Track and Field and the British Weightlifting Association. He is certified in first aid/CPR/AED through the American Red Cross.
